Edward B: Ah, it's not a glitch actually -- I don't mind that people can download music without spending VP. The main reason for the 20 VP requirement is to ensure that you're not a webcrawler or Internet bot - basically that you're a real person. Plus, with a new sheet music transcription a week, people have to come back to download it, which helps keep our viewership numbers up!

Kathy H: Not sure how old you are, but I work for a company named Woogi World and I have a Music Club where I've created a number of games that teach kids how to read musical notation. You might want to check it out sometime!

Jonathan L: you'll need a program called Adobe Reader to open PDF files on your computer. You can find a free version at Adobe's website.

Hey Ben. I came across your website only recently, but i am amazed at how well you can play violin. I have a few questions i would like to ask, if allowed:
1.) How do you learn to play songs, like Senna from Bleach, or Zelda? do you transcribe them, or do you use sheet music already found?
2.) If you do transcribe, can you give me some tips for transcribing?
3.) How do i submit a transcription on video to the site?

Hey Ben: Regarding your website there seems to be a glitch! :/ I just wanted to let you know. Because when you download something and just go back a page you dont lose any VP votes :O. I just wanted to let you know because people would probably just want the music sheet. To be frank i know I took advanatage of this but mate, your a great violinist. I will never stop watching your videos as they teach me more than my violin teacher could offer. Keep up the good work!!

Hi Ben Chan!!! I love your music and the website! I've been trying to play some of the sheet music, but i can't get any of the right note. Can you give me some advice on how i can get all the right notes? If you can of course. thanks!!!!

Hi Ben Chan! i just wanted to say thank you for all the wonderful sheet music; it is so much fun to play, and has helped me to improve way more than i could have guessed

From: Jonathan L Wed, 12/08/10 9:50pm
Ben,those new PDF Files you are using for the sheet music don't seem to open on my computer. I'm not sure how, but I can still open the Bitmap images. Can you either switch them to Bitmap Images or tell me how to open the PDF files?

Hello Ben C. I am fairly new to the site and I would just like you to know that your videos and sheet music have given me a bit more drive in my music playing, and I have been practicing more. I would like to add that I play the viola, and it's a bit hard for me to transpose sheet music. I was wondering if you could transpose some of your more popular music? Either way, this is still a great website!

I understand that you probably hear this more often than not, but Ben, you are a truely an amazing violinist and wonderful teacher. You have a God given talent, and you have used that talent to advance yourself as a musician, teacher, and role model. Thankyou for the videos, sheet music, and your expertise. I look up to you as my role model.

That's great that you mention the Mendelssohn piece as a tough piece, It is a tough piece but it is worth every minute of pratice. I just read the history of Mendelssohn in the Grove Dictionary and I was very impressed you can find them at almost any of the bigger libraries.

Mr. Ben Chan, I'm actually in my teenage years and I'm applying for college. It's different in our country. My friend who's studying in college said that Vivaldi will be okay I think I can't do Mendelssohn because I don't have a teacher that can teach me those and I can't play it, its really hard. Thanks by the way.

Good catch, Peter! I added the votes to the Kingdom Hearts - Dearly Beloved entry, which pushed it up from 38th to 30th place!
